Hi Nilesh, IIM Indore gives more weightage to your acads, compared to your CAT score. So, can't assure you about a call from IIM Indore. But, you might get, depending on the current batch. The same goes with the other IIMs. Work experience, or 98%ile+, will improve your chances.

It depends on the profile of the batch applying. Because the weightage is standard, but the scores depend on the batch, if the majority doesn't have exceptional acads, then there is a chance. So, I can't comment on this with surety. There is uncertainity always, So, be positive. :)

Hi Abhishek, It did affect my preperations. There were days when I had to skip my CAT preperations. Eventually it falls down to how you compensate later for that. Do you have a specific issue? I can help you with that.

No I didn't leave my job. For me, working kept me motivated, because I always knew there was a back up. Striking a balance is tough, but it pays off.

Hi Saurabh, IIM Indore releases the reults late. And, there have been occasions where the results were announced one day before the college started. So, in such a case you have to violate your notice period rule.

I took a WAT/PI prep course offered by Vistamind, Bangalore. The online prep videos were beneficial. But, I would say a coaching center is better, for the interaction you can have with tutors, who are IIM grads. Prep: 1. Material: take a few days to figure out what kind of material suits you. Or refer the ones given by you coaching center. 2. Have general overview about all the concepts from the material. Dwelling deep won't help much. You can never be completly prepared for any interview. You have to handle a bit of uncertainity. That is one of the things which you will be tested for.

Nothinig specific as such. But, make sure you don't give an impression that you took up freelance work to: 1. spend more time on prep 2. because you don't like working in an organisation Show them that you are open to facing/working in different situaions.

1. It is not considered ambititous. It depends on how interested you are about it, and your preparations with respect to that. 2. Consulting firms role out positions which are similar to those given to work ex guys. There should be no issues if they find you to be a fit, which again depends on your preparations. Designations: Senior Conultant, Consultant, IT Consultant, etc. which will be related to business strategy.

1. Read about the kind of work a conultant does. 2. Read about the basics of strategy management If you have any friends who are working as consultants, contact them. Know the kind of work they do. For cracking an IIM interview, these are sufficient.
