Hi, I won't suggest that. I understand why you would want to do so but it won't reflect well in your interviews. You can take 1-2 months leave before CAT if you want. However if you have made up your mind and want to leave your job, go ahead. You can join some NGO while you are not working.

Hi, I secured 86.74% in CAT. 98% in verbal, 70% in Quant and 55% in DI & LR. Should I attempt CAT again or join XIMB? I am eligible for domicile quota. Also I have work experience of 2 years.

Also is it a disadvantage to join any Bschool in India through CAT after you have 3 years of work experience? I've heard from many of my friends that people with 3+ experience face problems during their placements in Bschools?

Which company have you worked in? Also to give CAT again would depend on how confident are you in cracking 99+ %ile. Domicile quota is applicable for which colleges? XIMB is a decent college from what I have heard.

    12:48 PM

  • Profile Picture Akankshya Mishra

Domicile for XIMB. Worked in TCS.

In interviews for selections it may not be a problem. However once you have joined a college and you are sitting for placements, companies want some amount of ECA in the candidates

Hello Samaksha. I am working at Maruti Suzuki in Supply Chain Management department and will complete two years till June,2018. My acads 94.8/85.8/70.6 and got a CAT score 99.12. Missed the calls from ABCL. Chances for IIMK, I and FMS are bleak. I have calls from SIBM P& IIFT and most probably get calls from MDI and NITIE. Considering my profile of non IIT GEM with not so great acads + work ex of Suzuki in SCM dept. Which college is best for me ?

NITIE> SPJAIN>IIFT>MDI. NITIE looks good for you considering your SCM work ex. After that I have ranked the colleges in terms of their reputation

I know that IITians and people with good acads get priority in shortlisting. So, can I expect that my work ex of Supply chain at MSIL will help me to get more shortlists at NITIE than any other colleges?

    12:58 PM

  • Profile Picture Anjay Chakravarty

Thankyou sir. Also I want to ask that Only a strong academic & ECA plays how much weightage in ones selection. If someone perform very well in interview despite the good profile & renowned tags (IIT OR NIT), what will be chances? A good profile with avg. Performer will be selected or an ordinary profile with very good performance will be selected?

    12:59 PM

And I don't want to reveal anyone in my firm about my aspiration for MBA till I convert any of the colleges. So during interviews can I bring only first and recent month's salary slips?

See it is costly but will be a huge value addition, especially if you are looking at Fin companies. Do give it. NCFM is another option

You can't do anything about the gap year now. In interviews try and talk about what you did in your internship. Should be interesting for the panel I feel.
