    Hi,

Good evening Nitya, I have filled only XLRI-BM so I need a good score to clear cut off. Maths, VA and DI are my strong areas but I am suffering in RCs and DM. I just want to know is it the right strategy if I attempt all 100 questions by random guessing if I feel I may not clear cut off? I am asking because negative is only 1/4th mark. Has anyone done this previously and cleared cutoffs?

No , attempting all questions is not a good strategy ,zero is better than negative 0.25

Practice DM and RCs ,attempt all the questions you are sure of , and then take a calculated guess

But if the cost of not attempting a question is greater than or equal to negative marking do attempt

Yes if there is a conflict between ethics and business it is always ethics

In DM, a lot of questions and their answers seem ambiguous. Should attempt and medium accuracy since one can never be 100% sure of each answer in DM.

I mean to say high attempts and medium accuracy

Accuracy First , followed by attempts

Go through the previous year papers to get a hang of the DM section

Hi, I know that XLRI takes sectional cut off, but I just wanted to know that if someone attempts only 2 sections, say Eng & DM almost completely and leaves Quant, then will he get good percentile? I have heard that getting more than 50% of marks fetches near 97 over all percentile or more. There are other good colleges that don't need sectional, so. Please answer.

For XLRI at least you have to attempt Quant, Most good colleges will look for Quant cut-off , since MBA is very quant intensive, and it is highly unlikely to get a good percentile by completely leaving out Quant

Oh. Was thinking the same too. Thanks.

Ya Quant is even asked in interviews , so it is extremely important to prep for Quant

Yes. And there is still time for interviews. So for now I guess clearing the cut off for Quant should be the aim of someone who hasn't prepared very well in that area.
