    05:03 PM

    Profile Picture Swathika Selvam

The first year Program you will be spending it at Indore while the second year will be at the Mumbai campus where you will be exposed to live industry projects and will be able to interact with various business leaders directly (mainly because of the location advantage).. Since the course has not commenced yet, i cannot comment about the quality of the placements.. I must say that the HR department faculty are amazing. I had taken at least 2-3 HR electives each term and the courses were highly interactive with cases, videos, simulations etc.

Do the fresher's get shortlist in placements??

    05:21 PM

    Profile Picture Swathika Selvam

DO you mean summer placements or final placements ? Well there is a myth that freshers get shortlists for marketing companies only and etc. But the reality is, each company has its own set of shortlisting criteria for each roles. SO it totally depends on the companies and the roles that they will be offering. Just make sure to build a good profile so that you can convert all your shortlists :)

Eligibility : MBA with at least 55% score Then the candidate will have to submit an application online . Based on the applications received, the candidates satisfying the Academic eligibility criteria will be called for the Personal Interview(around April). The selection committee will assess the suitability of the candidates for research work based on the portfolio of the candidate and his/her performance in the interview. Final selection will be based on the requirements of the academic area to which the candidate has applied and an area-wise offer list will be prepared

SO for IIM I it is WAT followed by PI WAT- Topic was something like "Media's various activities are related to only increasing its TRP Ratings- DO you agree/disagree" PI- It was a panel of 3 member. IIM Indore is known to ask qns about you UG .. So i was asked about Data structures, its applications and had to write a code snippet about linked lists. Then it was about current affairs (since i had schooled in singapore, they asked about sinagpore politics).. They asked me about the BUDGET 2016(as it was released only a few days bef) Asked me about the finance minister. I had to then debate about how MOdi is a good PM and talk about swach bharath. They asked me my hobbies, where my interests lie and why IIM I

    05:43 PM

    Profile Picture Swathika Selvam

I would be lying if i say that the batch size is not an issue. Placements will be a bit more competitive and there are various policies like if you get 1 offer, you will be out of the placements. If you were to build a good profile and work hard, you are good to go :) Here is an article written by me that about 11 reasons why the huge batch size does not actually matter much :) -> https://insideiim.com/unique-fishes-in-the-vast-ocean-of-iim-indore-11-reasons-why-the-batch-size-of-iim-indore-should-not-scare-you/?src=SwathikaS And about scholarships, there are various scholarships that you can apply too. Like the aditya birla scholarship, NBFA(need based financial assistance) etc.

    05:46 PM

    Profile Picture Swathika Selvam

HOP happens in the 5th term. SO those going on student exchange will miss HOP. SO you will be asked to form groups of 10 and you will be assigned to various vendors like IndiaHikes, TSAF etc. it would be 5 days of amazing trekking, splendid views, sleeping in chilly tents and what not! the relevance of HOP is that you will be assigned to a major task (mine was, how to make the waste disposal in Himalayas sustainable) .we also had group activities along the way like wild fire cooking, picking up waste along the path ...and as part of the project we were made to talk to the villagers there and at the end of the trek we had to present our suggestions:) Probably one of the best memories to cherish for life and only given by IIM I!!!

Always best to be genuine.. The panel has been sitting there for hours interviewing 100s of candidates. so you can get their attention if you were to be genuine.. This is what i feel. But at the same time, do not say something like It is for me to get a good job with a good salary

Tel them something like "The motive of an MBA for me is to understand the various nuances of building a business and making it successful through the exposure gained both in terms of classroom learning and corporate exposure. This could in turn allow me to provide jobs for various people and enhance their lives"... You can ping me privately as the time is almost over
