this might be off topic. I already have 3 years WE at PSU. I am expecting good result for cat this year. My question is that should i try for GMAT given that i already have 3 years WE or give a SHOT for cat next year if the result does'nt go in my way

Its quite off the topic.. but for a bit clarity, I believe that your experience might be a bit less considering GMAT.. It usually takes in people above 5 years work experience, for IIMs... Some IIMs do take in people with 4 years work experience, but in that case, your score and academic profile needs to be extremely strong

For selection in IIM and considering your low academic scores which you mentioned.. You should target at a really high CAT score.. Plus, it would also be beneficial for you to have a work experience between 1-3 years in such a case.. Do prepare well for the interviews too, you need a high score over there too

Well, thats not the case with IIMs.. You should check thoroughly the placement reports.. I am sure IIMs grads get pretty decent pay packages, in fact among the best in class job offers to students..

Well, for you, since you have very less work experience, 2 year MBA course from a reputed B-School should be good for you.. It will help teach you the intricacies of work and business which you might have no idea about.. another advantage for you is that you can easily select your course specialization like Marketing, Operations or Finance or any other domain as per your liking with an open mind

There are quite a lot of good B-Schools like XLRI, FMS, NITIE etc.. You should check the latest NIRF rankings of the Institute you want to go for.. That will give U a clearer picture

It is good that you have clarity to pursue operations given your work experience.. Try to remember key concepts you studied in your Chemical engineering course.. Not to dig deep, but overall knowledge is essential.. You should however be thorough with your work profile and the jobs you perform in your company.. Also try to understand what skill gaps you face currently which you believe that MBA in Operations can help you fill.. Current affairs in your industry is also something which you must know.. start reading newspapers or watching news channels in general for some time everyday
