  • Profile Picture renjirkp

Hey what can u say wud be a safe score for getting into mumbai

    04:44 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

Hi so generally the cut off has been around 210. However there is nothing like a safe score. A score above 220 should be good.

    04:45 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

This again is dependant on the difficulty level of the exam.

    04:46 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

And no score assures you a seat. Even after clearing the Cut off, it is equally important to d o well in your CD and PI

    04:46 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

    Ookay

    04:47 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

I've been hearing that students who take the test towards the end of a window , would have their scores scaled to a higher degree. Is that true?

    04:47 PM

  • Profile Picture Vikram Jeet Sharma

    Hi Sumangal

    04:48 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

There is nothing like that. No biases.

    04:48 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

    Yes vikram

    04:48 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

    Suppose we attempt a retake

    04:49 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

and get higher scores but do not clear the cutoff

    04:50 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

while we had scored lesser, and cleared all he cutoffs in the 1st attempt

    04:50 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

Wwhich one wud be considered for the final results?

    04:50 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

Im not quite I understand your question. However, irrespective of your number of attempts be it 1,2 or 3 the best score would be considered

    04:53 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

also the cut off is declared only after the completition of all the 5 windows.

    04:54 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

    With the fine lresult.

    04:54 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

    final*

    04:54 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

Attempt1( Cleared total and sectional cutoffs:)

    04:58 PM

  • Profile Picture Vikram Jeet Sharma

yes is it worth taking 3 attempts for this exam. Since a lot of times people get stuck at 206 - 210 types of scores. Plus the exam is expensive in itself. what are your views?

    04:58 PM

  • Profile Picture Vikram Jeet Sharma

    please guide on this

    04:58 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

Attempt2(Cleared only total cutoff, not the sectionals)

    04:58 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

and Attempt2 score is higher than Atempt1 score

    04:59 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

So which one would be chosen?

    04:59 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

how do you know the cut offs? cut offs would be declared only at the end of the 5 windows

    05:00 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

    Hi vikram

    05:00 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

its always good to give 3 attempts

    05:00 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

since the best of al the 3 would be considered

    05:00 PM

  • Profile Picture renjirkp

I mean once the cutoffs are decided, which one would be our best score : attempt1 or 2

Also the chat is about how's life at NM. Can you just tell us if not having a campus is a big drawback or not? Coz I feel if a campus is not there then its a big loss for student life

    05:02 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

Regarding the expense, I do understand. But NMIMS is worth all the attempt.

    05:02 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

    The higher score is considered.

Hi Vikram. Im glad you asked this. No not at all. NMIMS Mumbai gives you all the experience of a campus life. it has a beautiful building, a sports lounge, piano, an aamazing cafeteria and several activities keep happening on a daily basis. Also there are college hostels, where you'd have a lot of your batchmates staying.

    05:06 PM

H I keep practising . Do your mocks well and most imp, analyse them. I took the oliveboard and time mocks

    05:07 PM

  • Profile Picture Sunil Sakri

So ideally 2 sets should be solved right in di

    05:08 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

For LA, I used to read articles from the Hindu editorial and used to learn 30-40 words each day. Also practise other similar NMAT questions from the mocks.

If 4 sets, I usually would give 3

    05:09 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

also depends on how good you are in quant.

    05:09 PM

    Ok

Campus life is great! NMIMS has a building with all the facilities inside. A sports lounge, an amazing cafeteria, a piano at the entrance. The faculty here is great. Also the curriculum is beautifully designed. It is rigorous yet fulfilling. Several committees , clubs, competitions and events to keep you busy throughout the year.

I scored 217 in window 1. Should I retake the exam?

    05:28 PM

  • Profile Picture Sumangal Kamath

A score above 220 is considered to be good. Again that depends on the difficulty level of the exam. Therefore its hard for me to comment. Anyway there's no harm in going for another attempt since the best would be considered
