Hi Ankit.. First of all, DO NOT be hyper aggressive or interruptive in your GD.. Once a topic is given, gather your points and jot them down on paper.. It is OK to not start the GD yourself, but yes, once you speak, it should convey a solid message and preferably, the point should be unique, or should add value to the GD.. It would be a plus if you can elaborate, add value or extend your peer's point.. If you want to disagree, do so politely and with a strong reason.. and keep yourself updated of numbers and current affairs.. Chances are very high that such topics are asked in GD

Hi Pranesh.. Keep your CGPA high.. In case of a tie, the CGPA might be one of the factors to consider for breaking the tie.. High CGPA will never harm you in any way

True.. In that case, just have good projects or certifications related to Finance (assuming thats your area of interest) and be very well prepared to answer anything the panel asks on Finance.. Although undergrad CGPA is done, and chances of shortlist would be a bit limited if it is low, but all is not lost.. Make sure U make ur chances count by extra preparation

These are the sub-categories or roles that you might be expected to work upon as a part of your internship. For example, under sales role, you might be asked to visit dealerships, achieve sales target, meet with customers, formulate effective distribution plan, etc

    05:08 PM

You might be asked to write programs in R on the data set given to you and draw insights from the same. The data is going to be real data from Companies.. Forecasting can be used to analyse risks, like credit based risks, sales forecasts, etc.. These are the tasks you may expect during your Summer Internship

    Profile Picture Abirbhav Mukherjee

I am not very clear on that point.. the shortlist criteria varies from Company to Company.. In general, the main criteria can be: Undergraduate GPA, Past Work experience. Some Companies demand freshers, some demand experienced people in their workforce for internship roles. Some can demand previous work experience in their particular domain only - for example in some IT Consulting Companies

Hi, there is a conception that Summers plays an important factor for final placements. If I did my summers in a domain, and I don't like the work. Will it hamper my chances while sitting for other function companies?

That is a myth.. I have seen many people getting roles different from the ones they got in their Summer Placements, in the Finals.. of course, if you want to continue in the same line or role, then the work experience in Summers becomes an added advantage.. The purpose of Summers is not to make you stick to a role.. It is to make you understand a part of an organization's working during your work as an Intern, and bridge the gap between Academia and the Industry to some extent

The only thing you don't have much control over is the shortlist.. But as I said earlier, once you get a shortlist, you have to make it count.. Be well versed with the job role in hand, note down your doubts to be asked during the interview.. learn about the current affairs related to the industry the Company is operating.. know more about the Company's products, partners, key activities, channels and suppliers and their target customers.. determine how you can add value to the role you are being offered

Yes, he can.. The Company coming for Final Placement in Marketing mostly does not fix an elimination criterion for Interns with non-marketing roles.. They may, however, debar people who did not take up adequate number of marketing elective courses
