Hi Sristi.. Having IT background is not a disadvantage.. There are great many people who have got through Finance roles in Summers or Finals despite having IT background.. Do not worry on that.. Getting shortlist is something which totally lies with the visiting recruitment team of the Company.. but having IT background is definitely NOT worth worrying

CFA certification is something which many people aspiring to take up Finance jobs go for.. It is recommended and having CFA certification may give an edge.. There is also FLIP examination if you want to focus on banking roles.. That certification is also recommended

Please refer to my answer above.. CFA and FLIP are quite well known Finance related certifications available.. Apart from this, try to do Live Projects based on application of Finance related knowledge.. Those activities can justify your interest in Finance

For consulting roles, there are no certifications per se.. Be very clear though about the role offered by the Company.. For example, if the Company offers IT Consulting role, then an IT background is a plus.. but it is equally important to understand what the Company actually does in the field of IT Consulting, who are its clients, what kind of services it offers, how can you add value if you are offered such a role

I personally think that it should be of great value. Having said that, your role or domain in PwC should (preferably, not compulsorily) match with what Bain is offering as a Summer Internship role in your Institute. Nothing to worry though.
