What you need: An internet connection and a Netflix account
Engineers are known to be a dangerously curious breed. They can come up with questions that can get into very intricate details and functions of just about anything. In a more general sense though, we all ask ourselves questions, some of which are never answered. Enter Explained, a new series on Netflix, in collaboration with the giants of explanatory journalism, Vox. What it aims to do is provide bite-sized video content on topics that haven’t been much delved into, yet are spoken about as single-terms across newspapers, textbooks, etc. While they don’t dive into the topic greatly, your time invested will give you an explanation and a new insight into the week’s subject like DNA editing, cryptocurrency, K-Pop and more. The series is gaining momentum because of its linear storytelling format, refreshing information and sound facts, all of which are packed in a crisp 20-minute video. The first season has just taken off and has a promising set of 20 episodes, each scheduled to release on Wednesday, every week.
We all have a couple of minutes, sometimes hours to kill in a day. And sometimes we just need a break from the dreariness of assignments, placement preparations, and semester exams. Don't worry, we've got you covered.
