1. Know your customers – Baba Ramdev has spent over 15 years, teaching yoga to people across the world. He has personally interacted with many of his followers and understand their needs and desires. He understands the core of an aam aadmi and speaks to them in a language they understand.
2. Word of mouth – Initially, Baba Ramdev didn’t indulge in publicity. It was the people who experienced positive results in his yoga camps went ahead and spread the word. This was one of the biggest advantages he had.
3. Focus on ancient, "pure" practices – Baba Ramdev’s emphasis on Ayurveda and ancient practices made him the face of yoga and Ayurveda in India. What's more, he became associated with pure and organic, as he promoted simple living.
Today, consumers are ready to buy anything he sells, all on the basis of his personal brand value. Why else would people be willing to dump their favourite brands and switch to Patanjali in the blink of an eye?
