    02:41 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi Sauman, The thing with mocks is that you have to analyse them. There will be some sections which you know well. DO them first. Try to find out your weaker sections where you have been going wrong. Work to improve that. Also, leaving some questions is important if you arent able to manage them

    02:41 PM

    02:42 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi Oviya, If you are slow you will have to practice more Try to leave some questions if you aren't able to solve in one go Try to find strong areas and solve them first Also give online mock tests, They will help to improve speed

    02:43 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi Avinash, There is no defined set of ideal attempts. If you are strong in a section attempt all to achieve 100% It also depends on whether the paper is tough or easy in that particular year

    02:44 PM

  • Profile Picture Avinash Chakole

    02:45 PM

  • Profile Picture Avinash Chakole

what schedule you had while you were preparing

    02:45 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi Parvesh, To improve your verbal scores, give online practice tests, practice is the key try to find your strong portions in Verbal ALso, RCs are very important and you have to attempt correctly at any cost To improve vocab, read Word Power made easy

    02:45 PM

  • Profile Picture Abhishek Tandon

Sir any mistake you did that wasted your time or anything that we need to be careful about while attempting?

    02:45 PM

hello ,could u tell me if revisiing previous mocks and past cat question papers would be fine ,to go through say all concepts of quants and so on..

    02:46 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi Nitesh, CL is easier than AIMCAT but you should improve and try to enter 95-99 in both Analyse your mocks and practice

How to maximize attempts in LR DI. Sometimes time gets wasted in tough data sets.

    02:46 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

    02:47 PM

  • Profile Picture Megha Malpani

Hi, can u please tell me what exactly we should be doing in the last 30 days left now ?

    02:48 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Hi, CAT Aspirant IN RCs there is generally one-two questions which are easy or moderate while the othe two are tougher So you should cover all RCS to attempt all the easy questions Try to improve reading speed to manage it

    02:49 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Utkarsh, For LR & DI, questions are from a pattern, Try to cover all types of patterns, ALso, this section is the key for those who score a good %ile @Heemang, There is no ideal no of attempts, Depends on paper and your strong suit But accuracy is preferred

Marks on an average in Aimcat are in range of 60 to 96 and number of attempts are close to 40 to 50...any suggestion on is this an alarming situation ?

    02:56 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Shrey I understand that you are working hard but not getting the results but now is not the time to give up. I suggest you to keep up the good work. There are lots of exams lined up and you will definitely do well in one @Utkarsh, Inference based questions are the trickiest. They are very confusing and very difficult to find the right answer. Sometimes, it becomes a question of luck as well because it depends on interpretation. If you are very sure, only then attempt otherwise it is a good option to leave @Piyush Mantra is practice, specially for quants, cover all chapters and portions @Swapnil, try to narrow your bracket to 95-99

Last 30 days rough schedule to follow.. How many mocks should be taken?

    03:00 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Mohit & Akansha & Sanket Important Things for last 30 days: Give mocks once in 2 days. Go through the key on next day analysing where you are going wrong. You need to be certain of your strengths and weaknesses before exam. For weak portions, try to revise again. Give the mock in which you did badly again after a week Also, solving last year Qs gives you confidence of tackling the exam. I did the same For the last week, keep time to revise everything. All concepts and chapters

    03:00 PM

  • Profile Picture Shrey Singhal

Sir how to revise the quant section shall we practice all basic material or just skim through the formulas and theory?

    03:02 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

Yes Shahil, I have discussed, To attempt less, you will have to do all the 3-4 RCs @Debaditya- Time can be managed by practice @Arshia- Scores may be less but %ile matters. Mocks give you a good indication, Try to cover all portions and keep giving mocks. @Nikitha Rondla To increase reading speed, try to read difficult items in newspapers and time yourself. Do the same online for GMAT RCs @Sanket-Practice to increase speed. Give up if you are not confident or not able to manage @SImran-Cover all the topics to increase you attempts, Try to find out where you are going wrong,Avoid fluke

    03:04 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Avinash I am answering your queries through questions of others. I hope you are getting the answers

Hi Sir, kind of little irrelevant ques here. But can please tell me, does the picture in score card matter as a personality point during interviews. Because I wont be able to shave due to some circumstances. And since nowadays we have our pic on cat score card. Does it matter?

    03:06 PM

  • Profile Picture Akul Raina

Marks on an average in Aimcat are in range of 60 to 96 and number of attempts are close to 40 to 50...any suggestion on is this an alarming situation ?

    03:07 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Abhishek Tandon - I was able to manage time effectively luckily. The key is to not waste time on difficult Qs and for that you ahve to find them out after one reading @Sanika-It should cover up if you have prepared the topics decent;y before through Arun Sharma or CAT prep books @Mohanta- Practice

    03:07 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Debaditya & Megha & Sudhanshi Important Things for last 30 days: Give mocks once in 2 days. All concepts and chapters. You can actually start it a little earlier Also, try to form a schedule and stick to it like doing Quants in the morning and VErbal in The evening & Portiosn for specific dates

    03:09 PM

  • Profile Picture Shrey Singhal

Sir how to identify difficult ques in verbal section I do not understand which ques is difficult or easy

    03:10 PM

  • Profile Picture SWAPNIL CHAUHAN

Abhishake...could let us know your section wise attempts in CAT 2015 ? It will give us some idea about that as many of us have appeared in CAT 2015

    03:10 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Neil - I would say all are important as the questions are a mix of concepts of different topics @Aditya - Work hard. DOnt be complacent. Cover ecery portion @Akul You need to narrow the horizon from 90-99, Attempts depend on paper. Don't go with pre conceived notions. If you find paper easy, attempt more @Punit- Try going through Questions of the same portions from online sources. Time & CL will provide the same. Arun Sharma is good as well @Saurav-If its one section, try to work hard in that section and improve, If these are different sections, you need to concentrate better and find out by analysing what is going wrong @Ajinkya-Explained earlier @Shery- Move to advanced sections rather than working out basic problems. Skimming wont help. DO that for formula on last 2 days @heemang- No it doesn't. Don't worry about such stuff @Shrey SInghal-It comes with practice @Swapnil-I did 75-80% attempts of the two sections we had at that time

    03:16 PM

  • Profile Picture PRIYA PAHWA

Hi abhishek, I am not able to do well in a 3 hour mock test but whenever I give sectional tests, I do relatively well. How should I tackle this?

    03:16 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Priya-I think the issue is not being able to concentrate for 3 hours at a stretch. This is a serious thing. Try to give two complete mocks or one difficult sectional after a complete mock to get familiar with sitting for a long time. I understand its difficult but you will have to build up the stamina

Hi abhishek. I have been consistently getting 96-97 percentile in the mocks. But i score less in lrdi due to speed issues i think. How should i prepare in these last 30 days to go from 97 to 99 percentile? Ps i am currently solving previous years' papers.

    03:23 PM

  • Profile Picture Avinash Chakole

easy question i can get correct but difficult one how to tackle

    03:23 PM

  • Profile Picture Avinash Chakole

@ naina do you have past cat paper from 2008 to 2015

    03:28 PM

  • Profile Picture Abishake Koul

@Avinash- I attempted all RCs though didn't attempt all Qs in each, left out unsure ones but my reading speed i quick. Make your own strategy according to your strength @Sanket - Do Both @Naina-96-97 is good. And the key to 99+ is correctly attempting all LR DI. Because all have either Quant as strong or VErbal as atrong. DR/LI in addition with the other strong gets you to the top of the pyramid Practice , practice and practice.... Try to do all types of LR/DI Q's
