Hello, TISSNET has three parts - GK, Quant and Verbal. You could refer to any standard books for Quant and Verbal (ex Arun Sharma or the material given in TIME/IMS/other classes). For GK, there are two parts - dynamic and static. For dynamic GK keep up t date with the current affairs by reading the newspapers. For static GK you could refer to compendiums or Manorama

Hi Ishwar, You chances are just as bright as any other student's! Admission to TISS is based not on your prior academics but your TISSNET score and you GD/Personal Interview scores. If you are attempting TISSNET 2017, my advice would be to brush up on quant and verbal and try to focus on dynamic gk

I would advise you to prepare thoroughly for questions like Why MBA, Why HR. If you are worried about your gap, don't be. As long as you are able to justify it, it will not be an impediment.

That depends entirely on you as a person. Questions like 'Why HR' and 'Why MBA' should ideally draw from your life experiences and your career aspirations.

Hi Pooja! How can we answer the two dreadful questions, Why MBA and TISS? I am aiming for TISSNET 2017. I have always found HR interesting and TISS offers 6 internships, which tells you practical usage of the subject also I don't see myself doing Marketing, Finance or Operations. I don't have any experience of working in any HR firm or likewise as I'm still in college. So how can I justify my choice and answer those two crucial questions?

Hi Sabheeha! Why MBA and Why HR are two crucial questions. They can only be answered by you, and should draw from your life experiences and your aspirations for yourself. You will have to consider what prompted your move to HR - unfortunately the answer cannot be by elimination (because not marketing/fin/ops etc). Maybe your experiences in college fests?Or your internships? Something will click :) Good luck!

There are two aspects to GK - static and dynamic GK. For static GK you could slowly build your knowledge by reading from books and websites. For dynamic, you would want to read the newspapers, and refer to any magazines n current affairs like Pratiyogita Darpan and Competition Success Review

Hi Sangam, You score should be in 70s and above, because that is where the cut off generally falls (though it of course varies each year). That is fine. You should be able to articulate why you want to join HR and, and why you want to join TISS.
