Gk is important because it is not a part of other exams that you might have focused on.

  • Profile Picture BaNi KaUr

Thank you mam what about verbal and quant ?

    02:07 PM

  • Profile Picture BaNi KaUr

Thank you mam what about verbal and quant ?

    02:07 PM

    Profile Picture Pooja Wanpal

Verbal and Quant is fairly basic - if you have been preparing for the CAT or other exams you would do well to stick to those topics

What topics to study for gk? Will current affairs be enough?

    02:08 PM

    Profile Picture Pooja Wanpal

GK is 35% of the paper. There are two parts - static and dynamic gk. Dynamic can be done by reading newspapers, and knowing about current affairs. It is very difficult to come up to speed with static GK simply because there is so much of it. So keep reading the usual material you have referred to for GK and focus on dynamic part - because that is something you can actually tackle in the next 25 days

Hi Deepanshi. In terms of level, I assume you mean the difficulty level? They are definitely not as hard as the CAT questions.

There is no yes or no answer to that question :) TISS is not looking for a specific kind of candidate. Even amongst 60 people you will find tremendous amount of diversity. So I would have to say the chances are as good as anyone else's :)

Hi Pooja, Level of difficulty in general if not compared with CAT and and how to manage the time b/w the 3 sections.

    02:18 PM

  • Profile Picture Pooja Wanpal

So basically to give you guys an overview of the TISSNET - It will have 3 sections - a) GK (35%) b) LR and Verbal c) Quant. The overall difficulty level is not as high as other exams. There is a cutoff that will be declared, and all the candidates above that cutoff will appear for the further process.

Hi Pooja, Level of difficulty in general if not compared with CAT and and how to manage the time b/w the 3 sections.

    02:18 PM

    Profile Picture Pooja Wanpal

It is moderate to hard. Each question is for 1 mark with no negative marking. To manage time between sections, I always went for my strongest section first, which was verbal and LR, and then moved on to Quant, and the GK. You have to keep an eye on the clock though! It would be a good idea to give a few mocks and prepare your strategy accordingly!

    02:59 PM

Static GK is really hard to predict. My advice would be to focus on dynamic GK and link it back to static.
