There is no fixed conversion number. However, mocks are a good indication of how well you will do in actual exam. So, try to score consistently between 95-99

AIMCATs are generally tougher than CL Mocks. Try giving some CL Mocks Also, You need to analyse what you are doing wrong in the mocks which is very important. This will help you to improve your %ile

Yeah as discussed, proper analysis of mocks is very important. You can give mocks on day and you need to analyse it on the next day where you did well and where you went wrong. You can give it again after 10 weeks This will help you in identifying which questions to target first and which to leave to save time

I haven't seen the mock CAT on its website but you can't compare by just one paper. You need to give around 20 to set a benchmark

    02:54 PM

thanks but abishake cant i get an idea of how much percentile i can expect from this much score in aimcats

You can use your friend's help to give CL mock for yourself and judge. Though whatever may be the case, it is important to do well in both

There is no 100% conversion factor. The whole thing about giving mocks is to gain confidence before the exam, If you are scoring consistently between 95+ with a few aberrations, there is a good chance of you scoring a decent %ile There may be outliers again in the latter part

My scores are fluctuating between 70's and 80's. I'm unable to score more than 100 yet. What are my chances?

I am giving BYJU's mock tests which is supposed to be on the difficult side (my Mentor said do) , they don't reveal the percentiles. Recently I had given AIMCAT and scored 82 overall. Percentiles are yet to be revealed.

how much can i expect if i score 80-90 marks in aimcats like 85 + percentile ?

    03:05 PM

  • Profile Picture Akkshaya Varkhedi

My % accuracy in verbal ranges from 55-60, in DI 50-95 and QA 60-70. I attempt around 24Q in verbal, 21 in DI and 22-24 in QA.

Your accuracy is on the lower side Accuracy should be in the range of 85%+ Similarly you are attempting 75% Q's roughly but you have to increase that to as your accuracy is low to 80-85%. This is not hard rule but a general trend to do well Try to analyse your mocks to find out where you go wrong

Anything can happen on the D-day but try to increase your %ile to 95+, There is still time to improve Give mocks, analyse them and learn from them

How do I learn to pick the right passages for RC? I tend to read every passage given, even the vague ones that eventually pulls down my score. How do I identify the right set of passages? And how many questions should one attempt with an accuracy of 80% in each section?

i cant abishake cause i have my final year exams also as i am fresher....from 20th nov and i have no holidays between them with compulsory attendance in college ..i just trying to give one mock in 1-2 days ..thats why i want to know how much i cant expect u are very well familiar with cat and aimcats

It is very difficult for me to give a number as there are a lot of external factors. But you will definitely score more than what you are right now by 5-7%ile i would recommend to work hard in the coming days and try to manage your exams and CAT Don't give up!

It will come with practice. It is important to read RCs fast My strategy was to do all RCs but don't do all Qs as there are some inference based questions which are difficult and I used to get them wrong There are 32 Qs in each section, 80-85% attempt with an accuracy of 85%+ is a good bet!
